Dec. 24th, 2005 @ 09:39 am Christmas War.
First of all, Bill O'Reily is a stooge.

Second. What's with the recent "War on Christmas" crap? Because I'm saying "Happy Holidays" I am waging war on Christmas?

Okay, so. I'm a Christian, right? Right. And I wish "merry Christmas" to those I believe celebrate Christmas, and to those I don't, I wish "happy holidays." And to those I want to upset, I wish "happy Satan day." Not really.

What concerns me about Christmas and any war in response to it has NOTHING to do with what people say to each other. It is what "Christmas" has become - not a time of worship/reflection/giving, but a time of RAMPANT CONSUMERISM. And what's funny is how unhappy Christmas shoppers have been in the last few days before Christmas. Most of them would really rather not mess with the whole holiday shopping crap, but do it anyway out of the societal obligation to spend, spend, spend.

Christmas lost the war against American consumerism long ago. And it had nothing to do with "Happy Holidays."

Bill O'Reilly - you are a stooge.

When Uncle Alan and Aunt Sarah were here we were all making fun of the war on Christmas. I find it quite amusing that people are getting so upset with Happy Holidays when it started as being a nice statement to those around the holiday season. Whatever. Oooo!! I have a joke for you. Washington DC is now required to say "Happy Holidays" because three wisemen and a virgin are nowhere to be found! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I thought it was funny.
